Easy Peasy California Prune Puree

We’re big fans of this versatile Prune Puree created by renowned dietician Cara Harbstreet, MS, RD, LD. With just two ingredients and two minutes of prep, you can create a simple Prune Puree to add to your favorite sandwiches, cookies, and more.

  • 8 oz pitted prunes
  • 1/4 cup hot water


Add the pitted prunes and hot water to the blender. Pulse to combine, then blend until a paste consistency forms. If needed, use a soft spatula to scrape the sides of the blender.

Store the puree in an airtight container and keep in the fridge for up to four weeks.

Once you have your puree, you’re ready to get spreading! Try it in PB & California Prune Pinwheels, Lumpia, or Chocolate Chip Cookies.
