What ingredients do you need to make our Pink Power Smoothie?
This simple smoothie is made with simple ingredients that will help to fuel your workout, including:
Berries
Prunes
Watermelon
Nut Milk
Honey
Vanilla
Salt
Ice
Simply add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth!
Salt? In a smoothie?
A pinch of salt not only enhances the flavor of the vanilla but also helps prevent dehydration. When you sweat during a work out, you lose electrolytes – particularly sodium. Small amounts of salt before a workout make it easier for your body to rehydrate and recover post-workout.
Why this power smoothie helps fuel your workout
Wondering why a berry + prune + watermelon smoothie is the ultimate pre-workout drink? Understandable. It’s because this awesome pink drink contains: carotenoids, lycopene, beta-carotene, vitamin C and L-citrulline (an amino acid.)
Why watermelon? Watermelon is a good source of lycopene, an antioxidant that helps reduce the oxidative damage that occurs while you work out. Winning!
