Prune Infused Negroni
Enjoy this classic Italian cocktail with a twist: California Prunes! The Prune Negroni is perfect for your next aperitivo.
What’s a negroni?
The negroni is a classic Italian cocktail. Traditional recipes call for equal parts gin, vermouth and Campari. We took some liberties with our recipe, swapping Campari for Figcello and infusing the concoction with the sweet flavor or California prunes.
Prune Negroni
Ingredients
For the Prune Infusion:
- 2 cups California Prunes
- 1 cup Jacks Gin #2
- 1 cup Apero Americano Spritz
- 1/4 cup Figcello
To Garnish:
- 1/2 cup Sweet Vermouth
- 1 long orange spiral
Instructions
- For the prune infusion, combine Gin, Apero, Figcello and prunes in a clean jar and let rest for 1 week. Strain the liquid.
- To serve, fill a low-ball glass with ice, add the prune infusion and vermouth and stir briefly.
- Gently squeeze the orange over the top, then garnish with an infused prune.
