California Prune Marmalade

Prune Marmalade is our favorite fruit preserve! This sweet and textured marmalade created by Daniele Uditi, Executive Chef, Pizzana West Hollywood and Pizzana Brentwood, Los Angeles, will add a touch of sweetness to your next cheese board! 

What is Prune Marmalade?

Traditional marmalade is a sweet spread made from citrus fruit and sugar. The consistency of our prune marmalade is similar to prune purée but it has sweeter taste.

How to use Prune Marmalade

There are so many delicious ways to use prune marmalade. Add it to your favorite cheese board or use it as a filling for cupcakes, cakes or cookies. Use this sweet spread on top of toast, muffins, or bagels. It would also be a fabulous addition to a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Ingredients
 
 

  • 12 ounces California Prunes
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 cups water
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions
 

  • Combine prunes, water, and sugar in a medium-sized pot. Cook for 30 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  • Purée in a blender. Set aside to cool. Transfer to a squeeze bottle.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

Enjoy prune marmalade with toast, crackers, or as a sweet addition to the ultimate cheese board.
